Burger & Lang 3 Gal Crock, Rochester NY, c. 1870-1877, with unique reef cobalt decoration, operated by the well known Burger family potters of NY, during this period the Pottery was led by John Burger Jr., his brother George Burger, and their brother-in-law George Lang who left the firm in 1877. This crock is in magnificent shape, with no noticed post-production blemishes. There is a pre-kilning chip under glass on the right ear.
