Nova Scotia Sampler wrought by Mathilda Covell Fiske (1835-1904) at the age of 12 in 1847, depicting trees, showing off letter and number skills, and writing of her birthday. Mathilda lived and died in North Brookfield, Nova Scotia, marrying James Slocum Dailey at the age of 19 with whom she had twelve children. It is a rare example of Nova Scotia sampler work, of which very few have come to market with documentation of origin.
